Peter Cavanagh was the Executive Director of CSP and a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre of International Studies, University of Cambridge.

Peter Cavanagh has recently returned to England from France, where he lived for fifteen years, in order to develop the Cambridge Security Programme. He is responsible for the feasibility study, development plan and executive direction of this innovative, university-wide and cross-disciplinary research programme, as well as for building up a related international network.

Peter Cavanagh was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge where he read Architecture and Town planning. At postgraduate level, he worked on computer generated planning and organisational systems.

Peter’s previous careers include, EU Consultant for the European Agency for Reconstruction in Kosovo. Where he was responsible for a study into higher educational needs for management and business education, as well as for the detailed design and business plan for the new Institute of Management in Prishtina. Prior to this role he was a Director of International Operations for the European Foundation for Management Development (efmd), a leading network based in Brussels. Responsible for business development and executive direction of major EU-funded educational and management development programmes in Europe, the Arab World, Russia and Ukraine. Appointed by the EC as first Director of its flagship project, the €8.3 million Euro-Arab Management School in Spain.

Peter Cavanagh was also a Managing Director for, Petrus Management Services Ltd a London consultancy firm specialising in strategy, marketing and institutional/ organisational development. And from 1969 to 1976 he was a Partner at Cavanagh Associates a London architectural design and planning company. Peter was also a founder member of CAS Ltd, a consultancy in sustainable building, linked to research at Cambridge University.

Peter Cavanagh has researched, published and delivered papers on managerial and other topics. He has spoken at international conferences, has taught, lectured and tutored at British universities and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Peter is the Secretary of the Corporate Advisory Board of the Centre of International Studies at the University of Cambridge. He has advised a number of educational bodies and has sat on educational drafting committees of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
